Yew Tree Farm is a historic working farm near Coniston — a rustic, characterful venue once owned by Beatrix Potter and one of the most charming barn wedding venues in the Lake District.
Dating back to 1690, Yew Tree Farm is one of the oldest buildings in the Lake District. Beatrix Potter purchased the farm in the 1930s and used it as a setting for several of her illustrations. Today, it operates as a working farm and a boutique wedding venue, offering couples a genuinely rustic and romantic setting for their celebration.
The venue offers barn weddings in a beautifully restored traditional Lakeland barn, with its stone walls, oak beams, and warm, intimate atmosphere. The farm's secluded gardens, babbling brooks, and enchanting pond add the finishing touches to a fairytale wedding — and the surrounding fells provide a backdrop that is pure Lake District.
Yew Tree Farm is perfect for couples who want a rustic, relaxed wedding that feels deeply connected to the landscape and heritage of the Lake District. The atmosphere is warm and informal, and the setting is unlike any other venue in the region.
