Storrs Hall is a magnificent Georgian country house hotel on the shores of Windermere — a venue that embodies the timeless elegance of the Lake District.
Built in the 1780s, Storrs Hall is a Grade II listed Georgian mansion set in 22 acres of landscaped grounds that sweep down to the shores of Windermere. The house has a rich literary history — it was once home to Sir John Bolton, a prominent local figure, and has hosted distinguished guests including William Wordsworth, who admired the house and its setting.
The venue offers exclusive-use weddings with ceremonies in the elegant drawing room or on the lakeside terrace. The Temple, a folly on the grounds, provides a stunning and unique setting for outdoor ceremonies — a neoclassical pavilion overlooking the lake that creates a photograph unlike any other in the Lake District.
With 26 bedrooms, a fine-dining restaurant, and a private jetty on Windermere, Storrs Hall offers a complete luxury wedding experience. The lakeside gardens are perfect for golden hour portraits, with the water and the fells creating a breathtaking backdrop.
