Set in 60 acres of private woodland and gardens above Grasmere, Lancrigg is a Grade II listed country house with a history stretching back to the 17th century. William Wordsworth was a frequent visitor — he described the estate as one of the most beautiful spots in the Lake District, and it is said that he wrote parts of The Prelude while staying here.
The venue offers exclusive-use weddings with ceremonies in the gardens, the conservatory, or the elegant dining room. The views across Easedale to the fells are breathtaking, and the woodland walks and gardens provide endless photographic opportunities — from intimate glades to sweeping fellside vistas.
